Happy Earth Day

Just a quick note to wish each of you a gorgeous day - wherever you are.   Celebrate Earth Day today by taking some time outdoors.   Enjoy a bird hike, wild flower hike, or just sitting outside with the special feel, sounds and smells that our earth shares with us. Spend some time with the organism that makes all of us happen - THE EARTH.

Wild Flower Explosion

The wild flowers are exploding.   With recent warmth and sunshine, the flowers are emerging at an explosive pace.    It is a fun time to photograph, but frustrating because you can only hit so many places.

The first 3 images are trout lily and then a cutleafed toothwort.   All of these from the beautiful Brandywine Gorge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

This morning I visited the Johnson Picnic Area in the Cleveland Metro Parks and got some unique images of wild flowers after a quick snow squall.

Energy of Flight

Been working on a new project that I'm starting to really enjoy.   I call this 'Energy of Flight'.

Often while I'm standing in the pre-dawn light, I see birds in flight.  The energy from the birds always brightens up even the most mundane mornings.

Recently I decided to start experimenting with different expressions of this energy and thus this new project 'Energy of Flight'.   Let me know what you think.

Dutchmans Breeches Wild Flower

With the cold spring so far, the wild flowers have been 'reluctant' to bloom.   Nature still has the upper hand in bringing these beautiful blossoms into view.

One of my favorite early blooms are called dutchmans breeches.   There are starting to come into full bloom and this morning I shared a wonderful morning with these delicate beauties.
